Les Diablerets An unspoilt Mountain Village

Les Diablerets Winter Ski Holidays in Switzerland Les Diablerets lies between Lake Geneva and Gstaad at an altitude of 1,200m. It’s located in the canton of Vaud, in the western French-speaking part of Switzerland. The summit is at 3,210m, making it the highest in Vaud. To the south it overlooks the hamlet and valley of Derborence and overlooks the Pas de Cheville.

diablerets-logo In the middle Ages, the rock wall that surrounds the village was cursed, the place where the devil did his worst. Accordingly, the place name of Les Diablerets also derives from the French le Diable, which mean the devil. Luckily all of those fears can now lay to rest and in fact the opposite name has been earned. A varied, child-friendly programme of events, infrastructure and big discounts accommodate the needs of our younger guests.

Traditional Farming Bags Of Heritage

diablerets skiing in the snowy swiss village Les Diablerets is a traditional farming village, and has bags of heritage. Luckily due to the lack of corporate expansion, has a very cosy feel to it and the village is charming. It has a pedestrian friendly area in the centre and in this newly lit up street you have the chance to walk around with your family or friends and discover stalls and activities such as creating snowmen, igloo building, hot chestnuts and maybe a small tipple for the older guests!

The Village

Dotted along the street are little fireplaces to warm you up and share some quality time taking in the fresh air at the centre of a typical Swiss village. Whilst you are hopping from warmth to warmth, you can take the opportunity to window shop or visit the restaurants and tea-rooms that will be nicely decorated, and to complete the atmosphere, there is a huge Christmas tree. It really does have that little Swiss chocolate box feel.

Eating Out

There are over 20 places where you can find very homely regional food. These fit in very well with the atmosphere of the village and although it may lack the full diversity that some larger resorts have, it can still offer the usual international dishes as well. This only maintains the quaint village feel.

This resort is not just for families however! Big events, including Snow
Boarding competitions, live bands and gigs mean that Les Diablerets is for
everyone – they genuinely care about all their guests.
